Michael De Simone ,Ph.D., LCSW is a Certified Psychoanalyst specializing in individual, couples and group therapy, and maintains a private practice in Staten Island and Manhattan. With over 35 years of experience as an individual, family, and couples therapist, and as a graduate of New York University specializing in individual and group therapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of patients. Among his areas of expertise are the treatment of anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, loss, grief ,bereavement, and issues related to divorce. In addition to his work with adults, Dr. De Simone also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents.
In addition to being an outstanding psychoanalyst Dr. De Simone has presented seminars at National Conferences and to professional and general audiences speaking on the topics of; Depression in Children and Adolescents, Post-Traumatic Stress, Loss-Grief- Bereavement, Adoption Related Issues, Compulsive Sexual Disorders and Men's Mid-Life issues.
Dr. De Simone Is a psychodynamically oriented therapist. His therapeutic approach is help clients express their deeper thoughts, feelings, wishes and fears and to gain understanding of the forces that shape their lives and behavior.
